You might be like me. You might be waiting to work on your taxes until the last possible date. That date is April 15 this year. If you are, this post may feel really early to you.Yet, for us, the deadline to get your giving statement to you is January 31. That’s in less than one week!
Giving statements are what churches make for those who have donated, through tithes and offering, over a year. You can use these when accounting for charitable donations during tax season or to see our “thank you.” We are working on them now. You will find them in your email on or before January 31. If you’re in a hurry, always login to ChurchTrac for the most up-to-date statement. Allow about a week for updates after Sunday services.
If you give online, you can check your giving statement at any point in the year!
Right now, we’re double-checking everything. Before we email out the official statement, log in to ChurchTrac. Verify we have your email and mailing addresses correct to make sure you get it. While you’re there, make sure everything else is correct.
Consider Giving Online
- You can do it anywhere. Yep, even there, as long as you have wifi and a mobile device.
- You can set up recurring giving! This way you never have to try to remember if you gave. You can also choose the date your recurring giving starts. I set mine up to every two weeks on my payday.
- Your statements are always accurate. No matter how hard we try, we are only human.
- You can have your tax receipt soon after giving. No need to wait until next year when we email it to you.
- The cost is low for Thelo – and potentially free for you. Pastor and I were talking about this today. We use ChurchTrac for our church management, and they only charge .25 for every online gift made through a bank account. That is a minimal fee for Thelo Church. If you want to use your credit card, the fee is higher for us. You have the option to cover the fees if you choose.
- You can keep up-to-date with your giving. We are virtual right now, while weare getting our new Sanctuary ready 🙌🏾. You can continue with any giving you have intended to make.
At Thelo Church, we have checks and balances for your donations. We have a volunteer team. They ensure it is deposited quickly. They also enter it into ChurchTrac and appropriately accredit it to you. If you find a mistake on your giving statement, please email treasurer.thelo.church to start an investigation.
